Rudy Ardianto

Interested in art for as long as he can remember, Rudy first started painting in 1993 when living Central Java, establishing a studio space called Gallery Butuh, an inspirational free environment with a strong artistic identity. Recreating this environment has been a focus ever since.

Actively involved in Sydney based community arts and artist-led spaces over the years, Rudy has exhibited at Gang Festival, Space 3, 245 Broadway, The Wedding Circle, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, GAFFA, Knot Gallery and Bill&George.

His recent work is increasingly militant and bold and focuses on the spirit and dynamics of art and activism in today’s world. Environmental sustainability and green politics is his drive and passion and he hopes to provoke and inspire green progress and action through his art.
